Pickup truck and homes vandalizedMultiple homes and a vehicle were the target of vandalism along Francis Street and Water Street in Charlotteville.A pickup truck and two homes were spray painted with profanities and derogatory comments. Investigators are reviewing video surveillance in an attempt to identify those responsible.Police were called to investigate just before 11 a.m. on Aug. 19. Two motorcycles stolenTwo Harley Davidson motorcycles were stolen from a St. George Street property in Port Dover sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 14 and 6 a.m. on Aug. 15.One of the stolen motorcycles were described as a black-coloured 1997 Harley Davidson FXS model with chrome and spoke rims. It has a large window and a Rumble Doll decal. The second motorcycle was a black-coloured 1999 Harley Davidson FatBoy.“These bikes should stand out in the community,” said Norfolk OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk.Purse and wallet stolen from homeA home on Grove Street in Simcoe was entered in the early hours of Aug. 20 and a purse was stolen while the homeowner was asleep nearby.The purse and a wallet that had been sitting on the kitchen counter were removed. They contained personal and financial information.The thief entered the home through a rear door. OPP are reminding the public to lock all doors and windows.Ownership documents stolen from vehiclesTwo unlocked vehicles at a property on Second Avenue West in Simcoe were entered and had the ownership documents removed.Police say the theft occurred in the early hours of Aug. 20.The OPP is urging all vehicle owners to lock and secure their vehicle and to remove any valuables. If anyone observes suspicious activity they are being asked to call police immediately. Wallet stolen from unlocked vehicleAt some point between Aug. 16 and 19 an unlocked vehicle on Norfolk Street South, Simcoe, was entered and a wallet was removed.The wallet contained personal and financial information along with a quantity of Canadian currency. Suspected shoplifter chased down by store ownerA woman has been charged with theft after a Walker Street, Port Dover, store owner chased her down.Police say a woman attended the store and removed a quantity of merchandise and then left the area on foot. The owner of the store followed the woman and immediately contacted police.Officers patrolling the area arrived on scene and located the woman, who was subsequently taken into custody without incident.A 39-year-old Hamilton has been charged with theft.Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents should contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1 – 888 – 310 – 1122.
